PRP Therapy

Restore Your Hair

Hair Restoration Treatment

If you are like almost 80% of the population in the world and suffer from some form of hair loss, PRP therapy is a great way to restore your hair to its best condition.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. PRP is showing some amazing results on our patients at the Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic. PRP therapy uses your own blood to stimulate your hair growth by spinning out the red and white blood cells and leaving behind just your platelet-rich plasma. This platelet rich plasma is then injected back into your scalp in the areas of hair loss, where it super stimulates all of your hair follicles to produce healthy hair strands.

Platelets are the first responders of our blood and are responsible for clotting wounds and regenerating skin. They carry the growth and healing factors in our body.

Patients Who Suffer From Hair Loss

For A Better Solution

After PRP therapy, some patients who suffer from a mild level of hair loss can see amazing results in the speed of how fast their hair grows as well as the thickness, shine, and overall health of the hair. PRP therapy is great at slowing down hair loss and restoring hair in patients who are just starting to see the effects of hair loss. It also works well for both men and women.

Patients who are dealing with a moderate level of hair loss can also use PRP in conjunction with a hair transplant and other treatments such as Propecia and Rogaine to restore hair and keep hair loss from progressing any further.

For patients affected by advanced hair loss, a hair transplant is really the only way to treat hair loss. Especially if a patient is at a Norwood 5, 6, or 7 stage of hair loss. But the use of PRP therapy alongside a hair transplant typically ensures that the patient will get the most effective results from the transplanted hairs. With a limitation on the number of hairs available from the donor area that can be used in the transplantation, it is of the utmost importance that every transplanted graft is successful in the transplant. Using PRP therapy alongside any hair transplant adds that extra boost to the transplanted hairs to make sure that the patient will get the “most bang for their buck”.

PRP Therapy

PRP therapy is fairly quick and relatively painless. Blood is drawn in the same way that it would be if you were donating blood. That blood is then put into a centrifuge, where the red and white blood cells are isolated from the platelets using centrifugal force. After the blood has completed its spin, the platelet-rich plasma is then injected back into your scalp in the areas of hair loss. We use local freezing in the areas that will be injected to make the process as painless as possible. The entire process typically takes only half an hour. So you can get this done on your lunch hour and return to work right after.
