NeoGraft Hair Transplant Process

NeoGraft Hair Transplant Process

How Does It Work?

When you are considering having a Hair Transplant Procedure or you are already going in to a hair transplant procedure, then your ultimate goal is to come out of the procedure with natural-looking hair and a new sense of reinstated confidence. Here at The Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic, our main belief is that every person who is suffering from hair loss truly does deserve a more desirable, yet discreet alternative to current long-time hair transplant methods and treatments as well as allow them to quickly get back to their daily life.

NOTE: The donor area will need to be shaved for us to get the best possible hair follicle grafts for the transplant. So be prepared for this ahead of time. And feel free to ask us any questions you have about this.

Procedure Steps

What Is The NeoGraft Process

Step I

Harvesting Hair Follicles

We will carefully extract individual hair follicles from the back of your head, which is also called the “donor area”. This area is used because it has been genetically programmed to resist the hormone that causes hair loss. This means that even after we have taken the hair from this area, you will still barely be able to tell that hair was taken from there after it has healed, and the healing will already happen as soon as one week after the procedure. When extracting the grafts, we ensure that they are the same consistency in diameter and length. This gives us a dramatically increased percentage of hairs that will accept the transfer, also called the “take rate”.

Step II & III

NeoGraft Process

Once we have collected the desired amount of “harvested” hair follicles, the follicular units are then carefully counted, separated, and prepared for the transplant process. By using these individual hair follicle transplants, it allows for a much more naturally-occurring pattern during the implant process.

We will then create what are called “recipient sites” for the hair on the thinning area in the proper angle, direction, and orientation created in the artistic transplant design that Dr. Cory Torgerson has designed specifically for you.

Step IV

Final Step Of NeoGraft Hair Transplant

The newly transplanted hair follicles will then enter into their normal biological process. For the first few months, they will become firmly planted into their new resting place and some will fall out. This does not mean that you will just now start to lose hair again in this area. In actuality, the transplanted hair will grow in to completely new hair in the grafted areas. The result for you is an entirely natural-looking, fuller head of hair. The new hair can be coloured, cut, or styled in any fashion and treated like your normal hair, because IT IS YOUR NORMAL HAIR! There is no linear scar or scarring, and the hair transplant procedure is completely undetectable – other than the new hair growth, of course.
