Advantages of the FUE Method of Hair Restoration

Natural Results

Hair Restoration Treatment

Since its inception, hair transplant surgery has improved dramatically as a result of technological advances. Today, NeoGraft follicular unit extraction (FUE), also referred to as hair harvesting, is the recommended permanent solution for thinning or balding hair due to its multiple advantages over older methods.

The FUE method uses the patient’s own hair, which means that the results are extremely natural-looking. Our team of hair transplant professionals carefully collects healthy hair follicles from a donor site at the back or sides of the head where hairs are robust, then carefully transplants these grafts one follicle at a time into the area of concern. These grafts are meticulously placed in a way that follows your own hairline, providing natural, undetectable results. To achieve the best results possible, it is crucial to work with an expert in the field. Dr. Torgerson is a leading specialist in head and neck procedures with years of experience in hair loss restoration. Using the NeoGraft FUE method, we extract a large number of small follicular unit grafts, which allows us to deliver the most consistent, natural results.

Short Recovery Period

The Solution That Works

FUE hair transplant surgery is the least invasive outpatient hair transplant procedure, and it requires little downtime. Although patients may experience some redness, swelling, and tenderness of the donor and recipient areas following the procedure, these side effects are typically mild and dissipate within a week of the treatment. The procedure itself is painless, as it is performed under a local anesthetic. Patients are prescribed a pain medication to manage any post-operative sensitivity. They are encouraged to allow at least 7 days before returning to work to allow the donor site time to heal.

Unlike previous hair transplant techniques, the FUE method does not involve excising a large strip of scalp tissue from the donor site. Instead, FUE produces micro wounds, which means that no stitches are required and blood loss is minimal. As a result, recovery is much faster and no telltale linear scarring is produced at the back of the head. In fact, the tiny holes made in the donor area often heal within 24 to 48 hours. The absence of a linear scar means that you do not need to alter the cut or style of your hair after FUE treatment.

The NeoGraft FUE hair transplant treatment is also incredibly safe. We use a careful extraction and transplantation technique to ensure that there is minimal damage to hair follicles. This meticulous technique results in little bleeding and has far fewer complications than the previously used “strip” method, and there is reduced nerve damage, pain, or damage to major blood vessels.

As with any procedure, it is important to understand the possible risks and side effects of FUE hair transplant surgery. During your initial consultation, Dr. Torgerson will assess your hair loss pattern, the hair density of your donor area, and the overall texture of your hair to ensure that this procedure is right for you. As part of this assessment, Dr. Torgerson will also estimate the number of grafts that he will be able to transfer so you will have a clear understanding of the results you can expect from the procedure.
