Eyebrow Transplant in Toronto

In the past, eyebrow transplants have been a procedure that was targeted at women. However, we have seen many patients who are looking for eyebrow transplants, both male and female. Eyebrow transplants are a permanent and natural-looking way of restoring or just improving existing eyebrows or the lack thereof.

Some eyebrow transplants can just be a quick touch-up, usually in the area of a scar or because of the lack of hair in a small part of the brow. These procedures are perfect for the SmartGraft FUE technology, because it is possible to harvest only the small number of grafts that are necessary. Even if it takes only 50 grafts to touch up this area, it is possible to easily take out that small amount without leaving any visible scars. The procedure can also be done in a fairly simple non-invasive procedure that can be completed in one day. In addition, if you are dealing with scar tissue and using SmartGraft FUE technology, the great thing about this type of procedure is that it can also be used to “punch out” the scar tissue and therefore shrink this area so that the hairs that are transplanted can almost completely cover and disguise the reason why the patient came in the first place.

Other eyebrow transplants involve more grafts and will take a little longer, but they still follow the same process. The great advantage of the SmartGraft technology though is that it has a built-in graft counter that allows the hair transplant team to keep track of the harvesting time, therefore allowing a very quick and smooth transition to the implantation stage.

The other advantage of the SmartGraft technology is that it has a built-in containment unit that will keep the grafts in their best condition until they are ready for the transplant. Previous technology did not have this feature, meaning that the process would need to be stopped for the canister containing the grafts to be switched out, emptied, and counted manually. This new feature means less manual handling of the grafts as well as less chance of damaging the grafts. As a result, the transplant has an even higher success rate.

An eyebrow transplant is a very specialized form of hair transplant that requires an artistic eye to create an aesthetically pleasing shape for the eyebrows. Dr. Torgerson has a talent for being able to envision the final result and design an eyebrow transplant strategy that will definitely attain the final result that the patient is looking for. The fact that Dr. Torgerson is also a facial cosmetic surgeon means that, besides years and years of training and experience, he has a natural talent for being able to create a design that will suit the patient’s individual face and eye symmetry.

Toronto’s Natural Microblading Alternative

Can you do a hair transplant on eyebrows instead of tattoo or microblading? While powder brows, feather stroke, and eyebrow microblading have gained popularity in recent years, there are limitations to using this tattoo method for restoring brows.

Disadvantages of Microblading

Eyebrow tattoos aren’t permanent, and they do require a touch-up every year or two. The reason is the semi-permanent ink used for “permanent” makeup, which is designed to fade. The old-school, permanent eyebrow tattoos that you may have seen look blue or green and blurry, because that type of ink doesn’t age well in the face.

Some people believe that choosing microblading – which creates small hair-like cuts, then inserts ink – will be the less expensive option. However, Toronto eyebrow transplant costs can be far more economical eventually. Redoing your ink, correcting uneven or blurred work, or laser tattoo removal are often hidden costs of microblading.

Sometimes people discover that they are not good candidates for microblading because they have oily skin. In certain skin types, permanent makeup does not “take” or heal well, which means wasted time, money, and discomfort.

Are Eyebrow Transplants Safe?

Microblading may seem just like makeup, but it is not painless. Any time the skin is broken, you accept some degree of discomfort, risk of infection, and necessary healing time.

Eyebrow transplantation is performed by qualified professionals in an accredited, surgical facility where safety and quality control are carefully adhered to. Unfortunately, many eyebrow tattoo shops are not regulated to the same standard.

Eyebrow transplants are surgical procedures, even though the incisions made are extremely tiny and heal quickly.

The artistic and technical skill of your eyebrow transplant professionals is especially important. When you select a high-quality, real eyebrow hair restoration, you can anticipate hairs that follow the natural growth direction, density, and shape. The results look exceptional – even up close! Your brows will look just like healthy, balanced brows should, without tattoo lines, shading, or a “make-up” appearance seen up close using other methods.

Advantages of a Toronto Eyebrow Transplant

  • You can choose the size and shape of your restored eyebrows
  • Any skin type or tone is suitable for FUE (follicular unit excision) eyebrow transplantation
  • The hairs selected from robust growth areas will continue to grow for your lifetime
  • You’ll never need to worry about fading, blurring, or unnatural dots and lines seen up close
  • Recovery time after eyebrow FUE is short (3 to 6 days)
  • The eyebrow hair transplant is done in one session and does not need a touch-up

Eyebrow Hair Transplant by THTC

FUE Brow Restoration

An eyebrow transplant is a very specialized form of a regular scalp hair transplant and works in a similar way. We still take the hairs from the donor area (typically found on the back and the sides of the head). Once we have harvested the required amount of grafts (usually somewhere in the range of 200 to 400 grafts, based on the requested outcome), we transplant those grafts into the eyebrow area to fill in missing hairs or to redesign an eyebrow shape. When making the sites for the grafts to be transplanted into, it is very important that they are done at a very specific angle so that the hairs grow in a natural way after the procedure.

Making sure that the hairs are implanted in a very specific way is of the utmost importance. If the follicles have been implanted at a wrong angle or they have unnatural placing, they will eventually grow out in a way that does not give the result that was originally intended. Some grafts will also have anywhere from 1 hair to 4 hairs. This is also important to keep in mind when placing the grafts. Single hair grafts are great for the outline and design of the eyebrow, whereas multiple hair grafts, if placed correctly, can add great density to specific areas. The other thing to remember is that these hairs do come from your head. Therefore, they will grow faster than the original eyebrow hairs. This means that a higher level of grooming will be necessary for the first year or so. Cutting or trimming is preferred over plucking though! You should never pluck a hair that is within your desired eyebrow area. The only time that plucking should be used is if the hair is a stray and does not fit within your ideal eyebrow shape.

Eyebrow Hair Transplant Tips by THTC

The Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic is now offering the latest FUE hair transplant technology, SmartGraft, to our hair restoration patients. SmartGraft is the latest automated harvesting technology available for FUE hair transplants and assists in creating the most minimally invasive and natural-looking hair transplants.

At the Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic, we specialize in all forms of hair restoration, including the top hair restoration treatments, FUE hair transplants, and PRP. To make sure that we are always at the top of the hair restoration field, we have added the SmartGraft FUE hair transplant system to our already state-of-the-art hair restoration treatments for men and women that are experiencing any level of hair loss. The SmartGraft FUE technology can automate what is already a minimally invasive procedure and makes it faster and more efficient for the patient and the team at the Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic.

“SmartGraft allows us the ability to harvest follicles in a much faster way while also adding a level of accuracy that is higher than ever before,” says Dr. Torgerson, our hair transplant specialist at the Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic. “The SmartGraft technology allows us to harvest individual follicles without having to make any noticeable incisions and does not leave a linear scar along the back of the head like the ones you would see following an FUT/strip-method hair transplant procedure.”

Using the technologically advanced SmartGraft handpiece, it is possible to harvest and gather donor follicular grafts from the donor area located at the back of the head, where the thickest hair grows and the follicles are not damaged by the DHT hormone that causes the most common type of hair loss, androgenic alopecia (usually known as male/female pattern baldness). The SmartGraft device collects, counts, sorts, and safely stores each individual follicular graft in less time and with more accuracy than other comparable FUE methods that are also being used. The patient’s result is a natural hairline without any of the unpleasant scarring, pain, discomfort, or long-term recovery that is associated with traditional follicular unit transaction (FUT)/strip-method hair transplants. Previous FUE methods, including the automated robot technology, require the follicular unit grafts to be removed by hand one at a time. That is obviously a long and tedious process that is now unnecessary.

“We have decided to offer our hair restoration patients the option of using the SmartGraft technology for their hair transplant for a few reasons,” says Dr. Torgerson. “It’s a really simplified procedure that is not only easier for myself to perform, but also my very experienced team, and we are already seeing some really amazing results from our patients that we have used it for. Our patients are also loving the fact that they aren’t left with a noticeable scar, making it a great solution for men and women who prefer to wear their hair short. And I love that my patients are able to go back to work the next day if they want to. And they can also resume normal physical activities within a week.”

The advanced SmartGraft FUE Toronto system allows us the ability of extracting hair from most parts of the body, because the incision is less than 1 mm and therefore leaves no visible scarring. The procedure is great at restoring natural hair growth to not only the balding areas of scalp, but to facial hair too.
