After a hair transplant, you must wait 48 hours before your first wash. Use a baby shampoo mixed with lukewarm water with a soft sponge and apply it gently without scrubbing. Avoid water pressure from your shower head, and rinse with gentle luke-warm water using a cup or a spray bottle. Following the 48-hour checkpoint, wash your hair every 1-2 days.

The surgeon plays a crucial role in designing the hairline, making incisions, and placing grafts to ensure precise and effective results. While the surgeon handles key tasks, a team of trained nurses and technicians typically manages other aspects of the procedure, such as graft extraction and preparation.

It is common to experience some hair shedding when you first start taking Finasteride. This is part of the process where older, weaker hairs fall out to make way for newer, stronger hairs. This initial shedding usually occurs within the first few months of starting the medication. The shedding is generally temporary and should subside as your hair growth cycle adjusts to the effects of Finasteride. Many people start to see improvements and new hair growth after this initial phase.

As always, discuss your travel plans with your surgeon to ensure you’re well-prepared. Be sure to avoid activities that might disrupt the healing process, such as swimming in pools or in the ocean. Protect your scalp from direct sunlight, as UV rays can damage the healing skin and affect the growth of the transplanted hair. Wear a hat or use sunscreen as advised. Opt for a relaxing vacation where you can avoid strenuous activities. Excessive sweating and physical exertion could impact your recovery.

After a hair transplant, it’s generally recommended to wait at least 10 to 14 days before getting a haircut. This waiting period allows the transplanted hair follicles to settle and the scalp to heal properly. As for razor blades, it is best to wait 1 month at minimum.

During the consultation, the doctor will evaluate whether the patient is a suitable candidate for a hair transplant. If a patient has previously undergone Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), they may still be eligible for a hair transplant, provided they have an adequate donor supply.

You can dye your hair between 3-4 weeks before or after your procedure.

Throughout the first 10 days following the hair transplant, avoid scratching/rubbing the transplanted area, swimming, going inside saunas, and any physical activities that can cause sweating. Although it is not ideal, you can consume alcohol and smoke as early as 48 hours after the procedure, however it may delay the healing process.

Although boarding an aircraft can increase the swelling, it is safe to fly the following day.

It’s safe to apply hair products as early as 2 weeks following the procedure. As for oil-based hair products, and minoxidil, it’s recommended to wait at least 1-month following the procedure.

If the scar area has blood supply supporting the tissue, a hair transplant can be done.

The appointment entails the pre- and post care instructions. To ensure patient is comfortable moving forward and all questions have been answered. The pre-operative appointment can be coordinated in-person or virtually.

Patients are scheduled to revisit for a follow up appointment in-person or virtually at 1 week, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year.

Patients may be eligible for a subsequent hair transplant as early as 6-9 months following their initial procedure.

We recommend to avoid wearing hats for the first 10 days after your procedure to prevent any contact with the transplant hairs. However if you must wear a hat, we recommend wearing a loose-fitting hat like a baseball cap or tracker hat.

You can shave your head with hair clippers two weeks after your procedure and you can shave your head with razor one month after your procedure.

During the consultation, the surgeon will do a physical assessment to determine the number of grafts that are required for your specific case. Each case is unique and the amount grafts required to provide density will be different for everyone. However, most patients will typically need somewhere between 1500-2400 grafts for a hair transplant procedure.

We recommend waiting 10 days before resuming physical activity. There is a list of prohibited activities we recommend avoiding for the first 10 days post-treatment: scratching & rubbing the transplanted area, lifting heavy objects, exercising, sweating, direct sunlight exposure to the scalp, sleeping on your side, smoking, drinking, and washing your scalp in the shower with water pressure.

The transplanted hair will be permanent. It is recommended that patients take finasteride before and after their procedure to prevent the future hair loss of the natural (non-transplanted hair).

Some potential side effects can include swelling, bruising and scalp tightness are expected throughout the first few days after the procedure. Shock loss could occur following a FUE hair transplant, however it is uncommon. If by any chance you were to have shock loss in your donor area, we would want you to contact us immediately and have you come in for a PRP treatment to cure the area. There will be no long-term effect, as long as we treat the area in a timely manner.

When it comes to risk and side effects, it is very important that you follow the pre & post guideline, which we will go over at the time of your Pre-op appointment. In addition, we highly suggest that all of our patients attend their follow-up appointments throughout the 12-month process,

The consultation will be approximately 30 minutes long. During the consultation, the surgeon will visually assess your hair and scalp to determine how many grafts would be required for the procedure and provide you with a personalized quote. The surgeon will also go over additional treatment options that may be beneficial for you, such as PRP and laser therapy.

You do not need to shave your entire head to undergo the procedure. However, we would need to shave the back of scalp where the donor hair is extracted from. If the hair in the donor area has length of 3 inches or more, we can perform a discreet haircut where we shave strips as an undercut. It would be ideal to shave your whole head, however that would be your decision. We can also provide the haircut on the morning of your procedure if needed.

We have performed the FUE procedure on patients as young as 15 years old to patients in their 90s. We do not have a designated age restrictions, as every case is specific and unique. During your consultation, the surgeon will determine your eligibility.

Patients who are experiencing hair loss or thinning are great candidates for this treatment. During the consultation, the surgeon will do a physical assessment to determine if you are a good candidate for this treatment.

The FUE procedure will be painless, as a local anesthetic will be applied during the procedure. You will be able to watch a movie on your phone, read a book, or take a nap during the treatment. Most patients do not experience any pain or discomfort after the procedure, however, we will prescribe you with painkillers as a precaution.

The length of the FUE hair transplant procedure will depend on the number of grafts that are required for your specific case. Typically, the FUE hair transplant is a full day procedure and will take about tü10-11 hours to complete.

Results fora FUE Hair Transplant will take 12 months fora full growth cycle. Individuals will see the best results when following surgeons’ recovery and care directions.

Some patients will only need one session, while other patients will need two or three sessions, The number of sessions needed will be determined during your consultation with the surgeon.
