Hair Restoration Options
Hair loss is more common than you think. It is seen throughout the world in every ethnicity, male or female.
Almost 40% of men by the age of 35 will have noticeable hair loss. By the age of 60, that number increases to 65%, and by the age of 85, almost 90% of men will suffer from hair loss.
In the U.S. alone, there are 56 million men and women suffering from some level of hair loss. Across the world in the past year, over 800,000 people who suffered from hair loss were seeking some form of professional treatment. That number is increasing every year as the technology and procedures continue to get better.
On average, Caucasians have roughly 100,000 follicles on the scalp, Asians have 75,000, and African Americans have 60,000. (Note: African-Americans can do more with less. Because of their thick curly or wavy hair, they don’t need as many follicles to take up space.)
On average, hair-loss sufferers will lose roughly 1% of their hair on a monthly basis. So it is very important to be sure to have some sort of hair restoration plan. Hair transplants are the only way to get the hair back that you have already lost. But with so many viable options available to the thinning, balding men and women all over the world, there is no need to lose hair so quickly.
Propecia/Proscar/Finasteride
Finasteride treatments help prevent any further hair loss. Propecia blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.
Rogaine/Minoxidil
This is medically classified as an antihypertensive vasodilator medication. It slows hair loss and can help regrow hair in some people. It is available over the counter for the treatment of male pattern baldness.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy
This treatment involves the collection of your blood (approximately 11 to 22 ml) and the extraction of the PRP using a centrifuge. The PRP is then re-injected to re-energize your hair cells, stimulating robust growth and collagenesis. The product is 100% your own blood by-product (autologous).
LLLT (low-level laser therapy)
This therapy is used to treat androgenic alopecia using a safe form of light/heat treatment. This can be done at home using certain technology that is worn as a hat.
SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation)
This method of replicating hair follicles places pigment into the dermal layer of the scalp. When done properly, the patient appears to have a recently shaved, full head of hair. This works great to fill in areas that can’t be fixed by a hair transplant for some reason.
Nutrafol Supplemental Vitamin
This supplement has natural nutraceutical ingredients that help combat hair loss. It targets the multiple root causes of thinning hair and helps restore healthy hair.
Revivogen Bio-Cleansing Shampoo
This product helps remove the DHT at the scalp’s surface and promote optimal hair growth.
Revivogen Thickening Conditioner
This conditioner adds thickness and volume to thinning hair. It also helps stop miniaturization.
Revivogen Scalp Therapy
This product is sprayed directly onto the scalp and soaked in to combat the conversion to dihydrotestosterone. It is best used at night before bed.
