Platelet-rich plasma therapy, or PRP, has been used for many years to treat all types of injuries and facilitate growth and healing in many parts of the body. At the Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic, we use PRP for treating all types of hair loss. We typically do anywhere between 20 and 30 treatments per week and consistently see great results in all of our patients, no matter what type of hair loss they are experiencing.

We also prefer to do a single PRP treatment on the day of an FUE hair transplant in Toronto because we have seen the difference that it makes with healing and stimulating growth immediately following the hair transplant.

PRP is a great treatment for slowing down hair loss as well as stimulating new growth from any damaged follicles that may be producing thinning and sub-par hair.

Scalp micro pigmentation is a great way of camouflaging certain areas of hair loss. We typically use it for treating hair loss in patients who have advanced hair loss and are looking to have that clean, shaved look. SMP works by recreating the look of a hair follicle when the head is clean-shaven.

SMP also works well for adding density to areas that are still thin, such as the crown area. By using SMP to blend in those areas of thinning, we eliminate the contrast between the scalp and the hair so that the hair loss is not as obvious.

SMP also works to mask scars from FUT hair transplants.

The ink that we use is a charcoal-based ink and is a semi-permanent treatment that will not bleed or change colour. It is necessary to have ongoing “touch-ups” over the years to keep it looking its best, but SMP results look great, and it is an economical way of treating hair loss.

We have been seeing some really great results from our patients who have added Theradome to their hair restoration plan.
