Is SmartGraft The Evolution Of FUE Hair Transplants?
SmartGraft is the latest technology in the evolution of FUE (follicular unit extraction) hair transplants. The Toronto Hair Transplant Clinic is proud to announce that we are now offering this SmartGraft technology to our hair transplant patients. The SmartGraft technology is designed to allow for a faster and more efficient FUE harvesting process than previous technologies and especially the manual process. This new technology also has the capability of safely storing the harvested grafts in a temperature-controlled and sterile holding solution. This allows the hairs to stay hydrated and robust before they are transplanted into the recipient area.
The FUE method allows patients to receive a minimally invasive hair transplant procedure with little to no downtime. When compared to the FUT (strip method) procedure that involves surgically removing a strip of your scalp and separating the individual follicles for transplantation, the FUE SmartGraft process is much more efficient. SmartGraft does not leave any visible scarring and does not require weeks for recovery. By taking out and also placing the grafts individually, the patient is able to get a very natural-looking hairline after just days of recovery. This means that hair transplant patients can return to work and their regular routine after 1 week to 10 days at the most.
How Does SmartGraft Work?
SmartGraft has taken the current model of the automated FUE technology and improved on it. SmartGraft still uses a similar motorized, contra-angle handpiece with other FUE automated technologies, but the handpiece has been improved to be more efficient. The SmartGraft handpieces are very lightweight, allowing for better control and less fatigue for the person performing the procedure. SmartGraft also uses a closed harvesting system that allows the grafts to be collected and stored in a cool, moist environment to ensure viability upon placement of the grafts.
The SmartGraft technology has also automated even more manual steps compared to previous FUE procedures. This means that surgery times are cut down and grafts are placed sooner. For the patient, not only are procedures now more efficient, but they also cost less because the clinic’s expenses related to hair transplant procedures are lower.
