Getting That Perfect Eyebrow
It is quite common for people, men and women, to start losing our eyebrows as we get older. This can be caused by over plucking or even hormonal changes. However, for some men, as we get older, our eyebrows become out of control! We treat many patients with this problem by performing an eyebrow hair transplant to fill in the areas where the hair is not growing anymore. Here are a few tips to create that perfect eyebrow for you.
Leave The Shaping To The Experts
We see patients all the time who have tried to do this themselves or have a vision in their head of what they think they want, but it just does not translate when applied physically. Trust the experts when you are looking for that ideal eyebrow. Dr. Torgerson has a very artistic eye and is an expert in his field. If you are just looking to do some grooming in this area, it is just as important to trust the aesthetician that you have chosen to perform the eyebrow shaping.
Threading Instead Of Plucking Or Waxing
Plucking your eyebrows not only makes it difficult to get the perfect shape, but it also does permanent damage. It is nearly impossible to get both of your eyebrows even and at the exact arch with waxing or plucking.
Threading can pull a single strand of hair at a time and is much easier to get a controlled and desired look. This procedure, when done by somebody with excellent training and experience, is not only very effective but also very inexpensive.
Give Your Hair Time To Grow
Whether it is over-plucked eyebrows or freshly transplanted hair in the eyebrows, it is important to be patient. Hair grows in cycles, and it can take 6 to 9 months before you know which hairs will be growing in. If you have plucked your hair in an area, it can take up to 6 to 9 months to grow back. The same goes for hair that has been transplanted.
Oil Your Eyebrows
Vitamin E or coconut oil can be applied at night before bed to help stimulate hair growth in your eyebrows.
Fill Them In
This is the most requested reason for us to do a hair transplant on eyebrows. The patient is not happy with how thin the eyebrows are and is looking for a permanent solution to add fullness to the eyebrows. This can also be done using techniques such as microblading or tattooing. A more temporary solution is to use an eyebrow powder. Eyebrow powder is much easier to apply than a pencil, and it also gives a much more natural look.
Match Your Face Shape
– A long face works best with a thick and flat brow, making the face appear more oval.
– A heart-shaped face should have soft, round brows to soften the pointed chin.
– A round face works best with a very high arch and short tail to give it a slimmer look.
– A square face looks best with an angled brow that has a peak and then long tail, taking attention away from a square jaw line.
– A diamond face needs an angled brow with a round peak to narrow the appearance of the face.
