Important Questions to Ask at Your Initial Complimentary Consultation

Am I A Good Candidate?

If you have been considering a hair transplant, it’s important to make sure that you get all of your questions answered before moving forward with the procedure. You may be worried about forgetting to ask certain questions or make the wrong decision. To help make things easier for you, here is a list of the most important questions that we feel a patient should ask at their initial consultation.

The first thing that Dr.Torgerson will assess is if you are a good candidate for an FUE hair transplant. Suitability is based on a variety of things, including your age, medical history, and the type of hair that you have. Patients who may not be suitable for surgery will also be given some possible alternative treatments to help restore or at least slow the hair loss.

It is incredibly important to make sure that the doctor in charge of your hair transplant procedure has the proper training, qualifications, and experience to make sure that your surgery is done safely and successfully.

Will I Need To Do Anything Before My Surgery?

It is important to know what is required of you before and after the procedure. This will help you schedule the surgery date and also make sure that you will be able to get everything done before and after the procedure.

How long will the surgery take?

For most patients, the average amount of grafts needed is between 1,500 and 2,000 grafts. Most FUE procedures will take 8 to 12 hours. It is important to know this so that you can be prepared to spend the day.

What is the recovery time?

Most patients will be fully healed and able to return to their regular routines and activities between 7 and 10 days. Post-op instructions will also be given. But every case is different, so it is important to ask this question as it relates to you.

When Can I Expect To Start Seeing Results?

It is expected that the transplanted hairs will fall out 3 to 4 weeks afterwards. However, some will stay. The follicle itself has been transplanted though, so the hairs that did fall out will start to be replaced with brand new hairs around 3 or 4 months. It will take a full year for every transplanted hair to start growing.

We limit our procedures to 2,000 grafts because we know that with this number we will get an amazing result. Anything over 2,500 grafts is called a mega-session, and the success rate will go down. Another concern is obviously the possibility of future hair loss. So another hair transplant in the future is usually a pretty good possibility.

How Much Is This Going To Cost Me?

Once an assessment has been made on your personal hair loss and the recommended treatments have been offered, we will provide you with quotes for everything that we have discussed as a part of your hair restoration plan. We have financing options available, and if requested, we will be able to get you this information.
